Health Canada issues recall for over-the-counter sleep and pain medications

<img class="webfeedsFeaturedVisual" src="https://display.blogto.com/articles/20250417-canada-recall.jpeg?w=1200&cmd=resize_then_crop&height=630&quality=70" width="100%" /><p>Health Canada has issued a recall for certain brands of acetaminophen and melatonin, so you may want to check your medicine cabinet.</p><p>Recalls for some Riva Acetaminophen and Life Brand Timed Release Melatonin tablets were issued by the public health agency on Tuesday.</p><p>According to the notices, the affected products are Riva Acetaminophen Caplet 500 mg (lot number D3120) and Life Brand Timed Release Melatonin 10 mg with the following lot numbers: 4D3965YA2, 4F4495YA2, 4F44961B0, 4F44962LH, 4H49262LH and 5C47764ES.</p><p>The affected <a href="https://recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en/alert-recall/riva-acetaminophen-500mg-affected-lot-may-contain-325mg-acetaminophen-tablets" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Riva Acetaminophen lot was recalled</a> because it may contain acetaminophen 325 mg tablets instead of 500 mg.</p><p>The <a href="https://recalls-rappels.canada.ca/en/alert-recall/life-brand-timed-release-melatonin-10mg-some-lots-are-labelled-incorrect-dosing" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Life Brand melatonin recall</a> is due to labels with incorrect dosing instructions, according to Health Canada.</p><p>The public health agency advises Canadians to do the following if they have the affected products:</p><ul><li>Verify if your product is affected</li><li>Consult your healthcare provider prior to discontinuing use of the affected product(s) or for any health concerns</li><li>Contact the recalling firm if you have any questions about the recall</li><li>Report any health product-related side effects to Health Canada</li><li>Report any other health product safety complaints to Health Canada</li></ul>
