Researchers at the University of Waterloo and Weber Sate University have tackled a pressing issue in public bathrooms around the globe: urinal splashback.
They designed two new urinals, called the Cornucopia and the Nautilus, that limit the amount of urine splashback to 1.4 percent of a standard commercial urinal’s unfortunate splash levels.
It’s not just saving you from humiliation—curbing urinal splashback saves significant amounts of both water and money.
“Although dogs urinate on trees to mark their territory, low splash is an unintended but positive outcome”Finding that low splash angle became the name of the game.
The new urinal designs would save $10,000 per bathroom every year, and limit environmental costs by cutting down on unnecessary uses of water.
