The 45th Canadian federal election is officially over, and Mark Carney has led the Liberal Party of Canada to a narrow victory. Monday night's election was a rematch between Stewart and Liberal candidate Leslie Church, who previously served as a top aide to former finance minister Chrystia Freeland. The Liberal candidate, Karim Bardeesy, previously served as a senior advisor to former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty. In the end, Bardeesy won the seat with 55.5 per cent of the vote, while Karpoche finished with 23.1 per cent.
