The 45th Canadian federal election is officially over, and Mark Carney has led the Liberal Party of Canada to a narrow victory. Monday night's election was a rematch between Stewart and Liberal candidate Leslie Church, who previously served as a top aide to former finance minister Chrystia Freeland. Eglinton—LawrenceBack in February, Vince Gasparro was just 200 votes shy of claiming this riding for the Ontario Liberal Party during the 2025 provincial election. The Liberal candidate, Karim Bardeesy, previously served as a senior advisor to former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty. In the end, Bardeesy won the seat with 55.5 per cent of the vote, while Karpoche finished with 23.1 per cent.
