
Class-action lawsuit launched against top breast implant brand in Canada

Canadians who have breast implants may be part of a new class-action lawsuit launched against a medical aesthetics company.
The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has certified a nationwide class action against the defendants Allergan PLC, Allergan Limited, Allergan, Inc., Allergan USA, Inc. and/or Allergan Inc.
The plaintiff in the lawsuit alleges that the companies were "negligent in the design, manufacture, testing, and/or post-market surveillance of Textured Breast Implants and Allergan Silicone Breast Implants."
The breast implants included in the class action are:Natrelle Saline-Filled Breast Implants (Textured)Natrelle 410 Truform Silicone-Filled Breast ImplantsNatrelle Silicone-Filled Breast Implants (Biocell Round)Natrelle Inspira Truform 1 (Responsive) Breast Implants (Textured Shell)Natrelle Inspira Truform 2 (Soft Touch) Breast Implants (Textured Shell)Other silicone gel-filled breast implants supplied by the defendantsIt claims that these breast implants caused harm, including Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large-Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), premature rupture and Autoimmune/Inflammatory Syndrome Induced by Adjuvants (ASIA), and Breast Implant Illness (BII).
