The Panthers eliminated the Maple Leafs 6-1 in Game 7 on Sunday night in Toronto, advancing to the Eastern Conference finals against the Carolina Hurricanes. Marchand said that he hadn't historically played well against Toronto in Game 7s. With the loss, the Maple Leafs suffered yet another postseason failure. After the game, Marchand was complimentary of this Toronto team.
