On Sunday, Biden's office disclosed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Biden's office said that he was diagnosed on Friday with prostate cancer "characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone".
