Sunrise on the Reaping is set 40 years after the last Hunger Games movie, Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Sunrise on the Reaping will adapt the novel of the same name, penned by Hunger Games phenom Suzanne Collins. Sunrise on the Reaping is a prequel to Collins’ Hunger Games trilogy, so technically, its follow-up already exists. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping opens in theaters on November 20, 2026.
