Toronto Maple Leafs are officially done with Brendan Shanahan

The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that they will be cutting ties with longtime team president and alternate governor Brendan Shanahan. "Over the past 11 seasons, Brendan Shanahan has made countless contributions to the Toronto Maple Leafs on the ice, off the ice and in the community," said MLSE President and CEO Keith Pelley in a release. Shanahan has released a statement following the news of his departure, leaving nothing but good things to say about the Maple Leafs organization and regrets for what he wasn’t able to accomplish. Extensive changes at the executive level have long been rumoured for the Maple Leafs, and it seems like this latest loss was the thing that finally got the ball rolling in that direction.
