Gotham FC defeated Club America 3-1 on Wednesday to advance to the final, while Tigres, who lost in the Mexican Clausura quarterfinals, defeated the Thorns 2-0 in their semifinal. Gotham's win secured a spot in both the inaugural FIFA Champions Cup in 2026 and the inaugural FIFA Women's Club World Cup in 2028. "The other day, we talked about the first-ever champions of competitions like the UEFA Champions League, the Euros, the [FIFA] World Cup and the Olympics," Gotham FC coach Juan Carlos Amorós said.
