Matt Rhule, Nebraska Cornhuskers: Rhule was born in State College, Pennsylvania, and returned there for the end of high school and then college at Penn State.
Kirk Ferentz, Iowa Hawkeyes: Ferentz played high school football in Pittsburgh, and also was a standout left-handed baseball pitcher.
Bob Chesney, James Madison Dukes: Chesney played college ball at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, a Division III program.
Kirby Smart, Georgia Bulldogs: Smart was a star high school safety for his father, Sonny, a longtime Georgia high school coach, before coming to Athens to play for the Bulldogs.
An all-state tennis player in high school, he began coaching high school football as a student at Florida, while also working for Hall of Fame coach Steve Spurrier.
