A buyer has been confirmed for the leases of up to 28 Hudson's Bay Company department store locations in three Canadian provinces. Under Liu's leadership, the transformation aims to revitalize the department store format by embracing contemporary retail trends while maintaining broad generational appeal. But this new department store chain will not carry on the Hudson's Bay name and brand. Hudson's Bay had maintained a presence at Oakridge since the mid-1990s, following its takeover of the former Woodward's location. By early June 2025, after concluding its liquidation process, Hudson's Bay will permanently close all of its remaining stores.
