From there, the Tamir missile will use its own nose-mounted radar to detect the rocket and guide itself toward it.
So, Israeli state-owned defense contractor Rafael Advanced Defense Systems—which co-developed the Iron Dome with Israel Aerospace Industries and the U.S. defense contractor Raytheon—is already developing Iron Dome’s successor: a laser-based anti-rocket defense system known as Iron Beam.
