Film development labs in Toronto are experiencing a resurgence in popularity, thanks to a perfect storm of Millennial nostalgia and a vintage-obsessed Gen Z, part of a broader trend where all that is old is becoming new again.
Aging millennials (cough…cough) have a sentimental connection to the janky plastic disposable cameras that used to be as prevalent in drug stores as charging cords are today — but Gen Z was the first crop of camp kids to grow up without these travel essentials of yesteryear.
So, we asked ourselves, how would nostalgic thirty-somethings and digital-age twenty-somethings approach photography if equipped with the same (lack of) technology?
But, more importantly, how would a season of life in Toronto translate to the timeless medium of 35mm film?
Find out what our spring looked like on disposable cameras in this photo gallery.
