Iberia, the Spanish national airline, has announced plans to launch a new nonstop flight service connecting Toronto Pearson Airport to Madrid.
While specific launch dates haven't been confirmed just yet, Iberia included Toronto in a major expansion plan unveiled earlier this month.
The strategic plan, called Flight Plan 2030, was announced on June.
The new service would offer travellers out of Toronto another direct option to Spain, as the only other nonstop flight service between the two cities is operated by Air Canada.
Iberia's upcoming route is part of a transatlantic expansion that also includes new direct connections to Monterrey, Mexico, and Philadelphia.
