Many legacy automakers like Mercedes-Benz (among others) are joining the minivan space with new all-electric options. Minivans are making a comeback, and that’s kind of surprising, as they’re some of the most polarizing vehicles on the road. Chrysler is largely credited as the inventor of the minivan, but there are actually a few vehicles that precede its original design. Many believe Volkswagen’s Microbus to be the first minivan, and some even look back to the 1940s and Citroen’s H Van. More and more automakers are taking notice of the uptick in minivan ownership, drawing up minivans of their own.
