Two members of the family that put Toronto on the map with a sandwich were just awarded the key to the city.
The names Robert and Maurice Biancolin may not immediately stir recognition among every Toronto resident, but their business most certainly will.
On Tuesday, July 15, Robert and Maurice were awarded a Key to the City, presented by Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow, for their significant contributions to Toronto's cultural landscape.
Fittingly, the ceremony took place right in the heart of St. Lawrence Market, beside Carousel Bakery.
Carousel Bakery is located at St. Lawrence Market (93 Front St. E.).
