Spain overcame missing two penalties to beat hosts Switzerland 2-0 in Bern on Friday to reach the Women's Euro semifinals for just the second time in their history. Swiss resistance was broken by the world champions' two goals in a five-minute spell midway through the second half. "We are very happy, and very happy to have reached the semifinals," Athenea said after the final whistle. Clàudia Pina's goal secured Spain's victory over Switzerland to reach the Euro 2025 semifinals. Spain are the first team to miss two penalties in a Women's Euro game since Norway against Germany in 2013.
