Beer produced by microbrewers benefits from a basic beer tax/mark-up rate that is lower than the basic beer tax/mark-up rate applied to beer made by other manufacturers. The provincial government is introducing legislation that would amend the Liquor Tax Act, 1996, to further reduce the beer basic tax rates applicable to beer made by Ontario microbrewers.
