And so, that was the tremendous, vibrant culture of mobility that still existed when Jane Jacobs moved to the West Village in 1949.
I should start by saying this: Jane Jacobs is right about almost everything.
To your point, Jacobs and Robert Moses were sort of in this war, and it was won by Jacobs.
There is a very tight correlation between the cities that are growing really, really fast and progressive politics.
