Owners have faced a whirlwind of issues, ranging from anonymous complaints about their licence to serve coffee to objections to their business having a patio whatsoever.
But, one new motion at City Hall is looking to change that.
Previously, the code's wording stated that "multiple objections" were enough of a basis for the City to refuse an application.
This would significantly increase the number of patios automatically approved while still providing a pathway for Community Council to review the most contentious locations," states the motion.
The business in question was Tiarré's Brunch 'N Cakes, which finally had its patio approved in a council meeting earlier this month.
