After what has been a nail-biting many months for anyone with a claim in Toronto's real estate market, it looks like sales for certain types of homes — and, in certain parts of the city — are finally picking up again.
But, industry giant RE/MAX has just released its annual Hot Pocket Communities Report outlining the segments where sales volumes are still going strong, or even rising.
This was led by downtown Toronto, where around 34 per cent of neighbourhoods have been "experiencing stable or growing activity in the detached home segment."
This could be a result of more affordable price points in recent months, along with at least the illusion of limited supply, at least for standalone homes with lots.
The experts add the caveat that an increasing number of new sales have been contingent upon buyers successfully selling an existing property, providing "a safety net" that now-desperate sellers are more willing to oblige.
