Loblaw Companies Limited has announced that it is bringing the largest rooftop solar system in the country to Ontario. The Canadian grocery giant revealed on Monday that it will soon install the sprawling 7.5 megawatt solar energy system on the roof of its East Gwillimbury Distribution Centre. So, how big will this solar roof be? "This solar installation will work alongside several other sustainable features at the Distribution Centre, including fully-electric shunt trucks and advanced building energy management systems." The new rooftop solar installation is being advanced through a partnership between Loblaw and renewable energy company Great Circle Solar, with the two companies having worked together on over 90 similar installations in Canada since 2012.
