YouTube will soon begin using AI-powered age estimation technology to figure out which users are under the age of 18.
Starting August 13th, YouTube will detect underage users in the US based on their activity and the age of their account, allowing the platform to automatically apply restrictions.
The platform will also automatically turn on reminders about privacy when users upload a video or leave a comment.
Beser adds that YouTube will “closely monitor” the update before rolling it out to other countries.
