Terry Reid, the guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist whose emotive singing style led gave him the moniker “Superlungs,” has died at 75, following a battle with cancer.
However, he was much more than that – in 1968, Aretha Franklin stated that the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Terry Reid were the best talents England had to offer.
In a 2023 interview with Uncut, Reid clarified that he’d rather be known as the man who put together Led Zeppelin.
“When you’re in a band, you’re committed to that style,” he said matter-of-factly.
“You’re not gonna be able to play any of that Brazilian music you like, cos they don’t do that.
