One of Toronto's biggest outdoor music festivals — VELD — returned this past weekend, and this year's event offered a variety of performances, DJ sets, and... a fake Deadmau5 who came storming the stage and ended up losing his pants in the mix. VELD-goers were in for a spectacle on Sunday during Deadmau5's set change, as a seemingly unsanctioned lookalike ambushed the stage. During the struggle, the phony Deadmau5 even got a bit violent — using his fake ear to fend security off — and then eventually had his pants pulled down as guards grappled with the stage invader. Is that enough to put the rumour to bed that a wannabe Deadmau5 jumped on stage and caused chaos for his five seconds of fame? VELD wrapped up on Sunday, and Toronto is already gearing up for what's to come next year.
