If you're heading from Canada to Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE, a new advisory is urging travellers to be cautious.
On Wednesday, Aug. 6, the government of Canada updated its travel advice for the UAE, known for its popular tourist destination Dubai, due to "ongoing tensions in the region and the threat of terrorism."
Canada's advisory level for the UAE is now yellow, which means travellers are urged to "exercise a high degree of caution."
If you're travelling internationally, you can sign up for the Registration of Canadians Abroad (ROCA), a free and confidential service that notifies citizens outside the country of an emergency abroad or a personal emergency at home.
Canada has also recently updated its travel advisories for popular destinations like Thailand and Mexico.
