"We needed to create an ecosystem," Quinn said when asked about how to break in a rookie quarterback. "Right now, I want you to build your relationship with your teammates, who are learning you, and play quarterback. Everything the rookie quarterback does gets noticed by the veterans, who know full well the organization's plan is for him to lead them eventually. Some of the things coaches do with rookie quarterbacks in practice is designed with his teammates in mind as much as it's designed for the rookie himself. A rookie quarterback's training camp is just the first chapter in what he and his team hope is a long, successful career.
