Organizers are inviting all fliers, and even those who are not, to come out and join in on the fun at what is the largest annual event of its kind in Ontario. They're promising a weekend of great flights, with some special "mega-sized" kites serving as the stars of the show. Aside from live performances and bites, the event will feature pro kite fliers Don Brownridge, David McIntyre, Christopher Higgs, Steve and Phyllis Franklin, Geoffrey Maher, Kerry and Lucy St Dennis Jonkman, and Matthew Black. Attendees can expect to see hundreds of different kites, all in varying shapes, colours, and sizes, executing high-octane kite stunts like dive-bomb landings. The Hopeville Kite Festival takes place from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on both August 23 and 24.
