Kyrgios to miss US Open for third straight year

Australian star Nick Kyrgios has revealed that he is "very nervous" as he prepares to return to tennis after a lengthy injury spell.
(0:52)Open Extended ReactionsNEW YORK -- Nick Kyrgios withdrew from the US Open on Thursday, the third straight year the Australian has missed the last Grand Slam tournament of the season.
After wrist and knee surgeries, he came back to play in the Australian Open, but lost in the first round.
That was his first appearance in any major tournament since the 2022 US Open.
Kyrgios had his best performance in a Grand Slam event just before that, losing to Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final.
