A significant stretch of the TTC subway will shut down for the entire weekend of Sept. 20 and 21, 2025, leaving Toronto commuters with almost seven kilometres of transit planning headaches to navigate.
The TTC plans to shutter service on a large stretch of the Line 2 - Bloor Danforth subway for the duration of the coming weekend, covering roughly 6.8 kilometres extending from Keele Station to the line's western terminus at Kipling.
The latest in a string of closures throughout 2025, the TTC attributes the coming service outage to signal work.
In total, a whopping 38 different weekend closures were planned for service and upgrades as of the start of 2025.
The TTC states that regular subway service will resume in time for the start of the weekday morning rush on Sept. 22.
