Those looking to take advantage of the final days of tolerable weather in Toronto may want to note a massive transit disruption planned for the coming weekend. Subway service will return to normal on Monday, Sept. 29, in time for the rush hour crowd. A roughly 2.75-kilometre stretch of Line 2, from Warden to Kennedy, will close for the entire weekend. According to the TTC, this latest outage — one of two wedged into the same weekend among a staggering 38 overlapping weekend closures planned throughout 2025 — is scheduled to accommodate ongoing transit expansion work. Regular subway service on Line 2 will also resume on Sept. 29.
