A Toronto bar that's been an institution in the city for over 80 years is officially calling it quits this fall. There are a few spots in the city — or, rather, a few remaining — that exemplify this more than Dundas East's historic Imperial Pub. It's not a lack of business or rising costs that's forcing the bar's doors to close, but rather, in typical Toronto fashion, good, old-fashioned development. The proposal has since been approved, and, as demolition grows increasingly imminent, the Imperial Pub has been left with no choice but to call it quits, once and for all.
