On this day, many organizations, cities, and institutions in Ontario will be hosting acts of public commemoration to honour those impacted by the residential school system. Here's a rundown of how major cities across the province are marking the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. Debwewin: The Oakville Truth Project at the Oakville Museum provides an opportunity for guests to better understand the Treaty relationships in what is now Oakville. To recognize both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, the City will be raising the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation flag on Tuesday at Mississauga Celebration Square. The flag is an expression of remembrance and is meant to honour residential school survivors and the lives of all those impacted by the residential school system in Canada.
