The 30-year-old former Cy Young Award winner has reportedly picked up the $16 million option in his contract, keeping him a member of the Toronto Blue Jays for another season.
Bieber must have enjoyed his time in Toronto, given that he could have become a free agent.
A trade-deadline acquisition, the Blue Jays took a bit of a gamble on Bieber.
But after a quick stint in Triple-A Buffalo, Bieber was back in the majors and showed well in seven regular-season starts with Toronto.
He started four more games in the postseason, with the Blue Jays winning three of them.
