In case air travel wasn't already enough of a challenge right now, travellers relying on the UP Express will be forced to get to and from Toronto Pearson International Airport this weekend via buses. Metrolinx has announced a full-line outage for the UP Express throughout the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, due to ongoing construction. The UP Express closure could coincide with a challenging period for air travel amid the ongoing U.S. government shutdown. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration plans to cut flights at 40 airports across that country on Friday, which would impact many Canadian travellers. The full-line UP Express outage is planned to conclude in time for the start of regular commuter service on Monday, Nov. 10.
