A Toronto burger restaurant that serves some of the city's favourite cheap eats will soon be closing its doors to make way for a construction project. Since 2023, Yonge and Dundas' Mayday Burger has been one such independent with a cult following. A self-described "minimalist burger shop," Mayday Burger specializes in no-frills, classic burgers, fries, milkshakes and all manner of other things fried, griddled and delightfully greasy. With a proposed condo tower slated to stand where Mayday Burger exists today, the burger joint has been left with no option other than to close its doors. Mayday Burger is located at 66 Dundas St. E.
