Durham Regional Police are on the hunt for a pepper-spray-wielding suspect wanted in a grocery store heist and related assault, targeting — for whatever reason — chocolate bars.
The incident occurred at an Independent Grocers location in Sugog, Ont., at around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Police allege that the suspect entered the store at 1893 Scugog St. and loaded a blue duffel bag with six full cases of Dairy Milk chocolate bars, boasting an estimated value north of $400.
The suspect allegedly fled the store, but not before reportedly pepper-spraying a loss prevention officer who attempted to intervene.
Police are looking for a male suspect after he assaulted a loss prevention officer and stole chocolate in Scugog.
