Every few weeks, it seems like a new listing in Ontario goes viral for its questionable living conditions. From horror movie-level basements to makeshift bedrooms in kitchens and closets, prospective tenants in Ontario have seen just about any space advertised as a place to call home. The most recent listing to go viral on social media was a sketchy basement listing in Peterborough, available to rent for $650 per month. Similar to other horror rentals out of Ontario, the ad was quickly shared online, and now, a past tenant of the space has come forward. In a video posted on Instagram, the renter wrote that they are a "previous tenant of 'shady tent basement,'" adding that they didn't see an issue with the space since it met their basic needs.
