The Canadian government issued the new travel alert last Friday, warning tourists of safety and security risks in northern Italy during the upcoming Milan Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The Olympic Winter Games are set to take place from Feb. 6 to 22, 2026, followed by the Paralympic Winter Games from March 6 to 15, 2026. "Venues for the Games will be spread out across several destinations in northern Italy," reads the travel advisory. "The Government of Italy maintains a public alert system on terrorism. Italy isn't the only country that Canada has designated with a risk level of "exercise a high degree of caution."
