The Bentway's winter skate trail officially opens on Dec. 20, bringing another beloved annual tradition back to the city. The 220-metre-long, figure-eight-shaped ice rink — iconically tucked beneath one of Canada's busiest highways — will host daily free skating sessions along with other special events throughout the season. Skate rentals are available on-site for $12.99 and can be used for a two-hour period during each visit. The Bentway's winter skating program runs from Dec. 20 to Feb. 16, 2026. Hours are 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4, 2026.
