"Russia is already escalating its covert campaign against our societies," Mark Rutte said in a speech in Germany. Rutte's warning comes as US President Donald Trump tries to bring an end to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, launched in February 2022. Nato includes 30 European countries - as well as Canada and the US, the alliance's most powerful military member. "Allied defence spending and production must rise rapidly, our armed forces must have what they need to keep us safe," the Nato chief said.
