Anthropic bundled the Claude Code release in as the second item in their post announcing Claude 3.7 Sonnet.
Claude Code and friends have conclusively demonstrated that developers will embrace LLMs on the command line, given powerful enough models and the right harness.
2025 saw Gemini 2.0, Gemini 2.5 and then Gemini 3.0—each model family supporting audio/video/image/text input of 1,000,000+ tokens, priced competitively and proving more capable than the last.
