Fairly or not, there’s going to be a lot of expectations for Code Vein 2. Like the first game, Code Vein 2 has an astoundingly detailed character creator. That time travel element is the most interesting thing Code Vein 2 brings to the table, because of how it’s integrated both mechanically and narratively. Code Vein 2’s combat feels delightfully smooth, a tantalizing fusion of high-intensity action and the deliberateness of Soulslikes.
