A significant stretch of the TTC subway will be shut down for the entire weekend of January 17-18, marking the first major planned disruption on the network in 2026 following a staggering 38 weekend closures on the system last year. The closure will affect a 4.9-kilometre stretch of track spanning Ossington, Dufferin, Lansdowne, Dundas West, Keele, High Park, Runnymede, and Jane stations. Of the 8 stations impacted, only High Park and Lansdowne stations will be closed, while Dufferin Station's Russett Avenue entrance will also be inaccessible. All stations along the closed stretch, aside from High Park and Lansdowne, will be open for passengers to purchase or reload fares and connect with TTC surface routes. Normal subway service is expected to resume in time for the start of the morning rush on Monday, January 19, at approximately 6 a.m.
