Kim Petras wants to return to life as an independent artist, the singer suggested in a series of social media posts. On X, she claimed that her current label, Republic Records, has stalled the release of her upcoming album, Detour. This is why I have formally requested to be dropped by @RepublicRecords.”Representatives for Republic Records did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone‘s request for comment. In one, she claims that it’s not just the album being held up, but the singles, too. Petras’ latest release “I Like Ur Look” arrived in October following the singles “Freak It” and “Polo.” Her most recent full-length LP, Problématique, arrived in 2023.
