Jeff Buckley‘s exquisite offering “Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” has reached the Billboard Hot 100 nearly three decades after his tragic death.
The haunting song is the seventh track on the singer-songwriter’s legendary debut album, Grace, which was released in 1994.
Billboard announced the news on Tuesday, stating that the song reached Number 97 on the chart on Jan. 31.
“Lover, You Should’ve Come Over” made its first chart appearance at Number 22 on the Hot Rock and Alternative Songs chart in April 2025, and after dropping off, it returned in July ahead of Amy Berg’s documentary It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, released last August.
Buckley wrote the track about his fading relationship with girlfriend Rebecca Moore; he met her at a tribute to his late father, folk singer Tim Buckley.
