Ford announced a $19.5 billion write-down on its EV investments — one of the largest in corporate history.
And then President Donald Trump turned EVs politically toxic, and here we are.
Along with Congressional Republicans, Trump eliminated the $7,500 EV tax credit, right when the market was finding its footing.
And then, earlier this month, the real kill shot: Trump’s EPA rescinded the landmark “endangerment finding” that greenhouse gas emissions endanger human health — the foundation of the agency’s vehicle-pollution rules first adopted in 2010.
