Canada's Wonderland finally confirmed rampant speculation last August, announcing what is expected to become the park's flagship attraction once open this year.

Construction was off to a somewhat slow start. However, Wonderland spokesperson Grace Peacock confirmed to blogTO earlier this year that the park is "working to open AlpenFury early in the season," and promised further updates in the months to come.

Though there were some initial doubts from voices in the coaster-fan community about the attraction's ability to hit its planned spring opening, rapid construction has since silenced all doubters, and AlpenFury is looking closer to reality every day.
